Happy New Year 2022!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! I know that the past 2 years has been crazy for everyone, and many are not claiming the year for fear that it will end up being a hot mess, but the optimist in me is feeling happy and blessed for being here to witness this new year. I am grateful and thankful for the health and happiness of my family and friends, the amazing new friendships that I’ve made this year, the excitement and possibilities of the new year, and so much more. This year, I want to move away from New Years resolutions and […]

Merry Christmas Epic Family and Friends!

I want to wish all of our epic family and friends a Merry Christmas! I hope your day is filled with joy, laughs, memories, and most importantly, love. We’re going to stuff our face with food all day (well, every 2 hours for this growing young man here!), watch holiday movies and listen to the nostalgic holiday music, and while he’s lost in his toys and games, I’ll be on the sofa enjoying some peace and relaxation, with some hot chocolate filled with tons of marshmallows!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Whereas 2020 seemed to drag on forever, 2021 is just flying by! I am still genuinely surprised that summer is over and we’re already in the throes of the holiday season! Our Thanksgiving traditions were in full swing this year – watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade (which I LOVE is back this year), watching holiday movies or shows, not eating until Thanksgiving dinner, and reflecting on the year and what we’re thankful for! This year we have so much to be thankful for! Of course, we have the standard family and friends, health, and gainful employment, but we also […]

Strong Single Moms…It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

Dear Strong Single Moms, How are you? Are you okay? This pandemic has completely massacred the everyday norms. I’m sure you had your struggles before, and this pandemic has made it even worse. Did you become mom and dad, caretaker, teacher and so much more? Did you have to gauge whether or not to keep your job? Do you have help raising your kids? Are you struggling to find support or your “village”? Are you having trouble finding a true work/life balance? Are you thriving but concerned about how long you’ll be able to maintain it successfully? All of this […]

We Bought Our First House, Y’all!!!

Do you believe that God gives you signs or a direct push to get your act together or to accomplish a goal that you have in mind but don’t feel ready to bring to fruition? I believe that was the case with purchasing our first home! If you recall, in 2018, we made it a mission to find a house. I was willing to take just about anything within my price range as long as it was in our same town. My son was insistent that we remain in the same town and continue going to the same school, and […]

My Lil Man is 10 Years Old!

My lil man is officially in the double digits! 10 years old! It feels like we have been waiting and planning this birthday for years, and it is finally here! My son’s birthday was this past Wednesday, July 28th, and he only asked for two things: go to the gym and buy soft pretzels. A strange combination – yes – but he has grown into a simple, uncomplicated kid. I love that about him! We’ve been going to one of our local gyms (our town is chock full of them!) for the past couple of months and there is a […]

I’m Tired of Adulting!

Why were we so excited about becoming an adult when we were children? I guess we always want what we don’t have, right? I remember telling my mom – “One day I’m going to become an adult and I won’t have to listen to any of your rules!” I envisioned the excitement and freedom of being an adult… Now here I am, in full adult mode – with a child, house, car, bills, and demanding job. How I do I feel now? I don’t want to be an adult anymore! I don’t want to work anymore! I’m tired! I’m sure […]

Starting Over!

I started Epic Mommy Adventures back in 2013 when I was at the peak of my single parenthood experience (or at least what I thought was the peak! If only I knew then what I know now!). My son was 2 and I was barely surviving through the “terrible twos”. I was struggling with the experience and needed an outlet without the expense of therapy. It worked for quite some time – 4-5 years to be exact – until I hit writer’s block and life block. My passion of writing became more of a burden, and I just didn’t have […]

Single Parents Have All the Love #Sponsored

*Disclaimer: I received compensation in exchange for writing this post on Mom.me, in celebration of National Single Parents Day.  Any parent can agree that parenting is tough. It is a challenging and complex experience that requires every fiber of your being, and although at times you can become overwhelmed and exhausted by it, you would never trade it for the world. Being a single parent is no different. The added level of complexity comes with the fact that you’re handling most, if not all, of the responsibilities of raising your child on your own. National Single Parent Day is the […]
