Happy New Year Everyone!!!! I know that the past 2 years has been crazy for everyone, and many are not claiming the year for fear that it will end up being a hot mess, but the optimist in me is feeling happy and blessed for being here to witness this new year.
I am grateful and thankful for the health and happiness of my family and friends, the amazing new friendships that I’ve made this year, the excitement and possibilities of the new year, and so much more.
This year, I want to move away from New Years resolutions and focus on a word of the year. For 2022, my word is FORTITUDE.
Merriam-Webster defines fortitude as:
Fortitude: strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with couragehttps://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fortitude
I think we can all do with some fortitude this year. We have braved so much in the last two years for so many reasons, and I cannot believe that we didn’t come out on the other side unscathed. We’re all still trying to cope.
I want this year to be a year filled with love, laughter, happiness, and so much more.
I want to smile genuinely, without masking fear, exhaustion, and recently shed tears.
I want to feel safe when my child goes off to school and I go back to the office.
I want to see my friends and family without fear.
I want to be happy at my job and in my career.
I want to find happiness and joy in the every day again.
I hope that your year will be even better than you have planned. I wish you and your family health, happiness, and hope for the end of this pandemic.
