My lil man is officially in the double digits! 10 years old!
It feels like we have been waiting and planning this birthday for years, and it is finally here!
My son’s birthday was this past Wednesday, July 28th, and he only asked for two things: go to the gym and buy soft pretzels. A strange combination – yes – but he has grown into a simple, uncomplicated kid. I love that about him!
We’ve been going to one of our local gyms (our town is chock full of them!) for the past couple of months and there is a kids gym. With my son being an aspiring fitness trainer, he is overwhelmed with joy to go to the gym every week. At one point we were going every day, but we’ve cut back a bit to only a few times per week.
So back to his birthday…
We enjoyed a “Yes Day” of sorts – where we did just about anything he wanted to do. He mostly wanted me to play video games with him, go to the park, and watch movies with him. I intended to keep his birthday simple since his birthday party was going to be filled with fun!
On Saturday, July 30th, we celebrated with a huge backyard birthday celebration. We had a 19 foot water slide, bouncy house, food and tons of snacks, birthday cupcakes, a visit from a local water ice truck, his dad as DJ and MC with an amazing speaker system and possibly the worst thing we could ever give him – a microphone lol, and finally – a glow in the dark foam party at night.
You read that right – a glow in the dark foam party! To say the party was amazing is an understatement.
The party started at 2pm and the last child left at about 10:30pm. Look at this fun agenda I created on Canva!

The Water Ice Truck – one of the best water ice I’ve tasted and great prices!
Days 2 Remember – beautiful and creative yard signs at a great price!
Express Rentals – tent, table, and chairs; great prices and so easy to work with!
